Impact-sound insulation
BHK is going for an ecological solution in its products for improving impact and stereoscopic sound. “Moderna Piano” is a fibreboard that is all-over bonded to the laminate panels of its Moderna lines. The fibreboard is also available separately. The company is in addition introducing its “Moderna Schallschutz” underlay. This consists of 4 mm thick sheets that can be laid individually and combined with all types of laminate and parquet flooring.

Non-glued parquet
Rex has now applied its “Klick” technique to parquet flooring as well. Since this has already proved its efficiency when applied to veneered and laminated flooring, the parquet range is now also being changed from a tongue-and-groove system to the Fast fix “Klick” technique. Parquet flooring for newbuild and renovation projects is available with a wear layer ranging from 2.5 mm to 3.6 mm. Rex has been supplying floor coverings and laying accessories to the DIY superstore sector since 1992.

New-generation laminate
Quick Step Perspective laminate plank flooring combines the advantages of a laminate with the appearance of plank flooring and comes complete with the Uniclic laying system. Because the long edge of the laminate planks is slightly chamfered, a v-shaped joint is formed when they are clicked together. This harmonises with the surface design, which further enhances the plank-floor effect. The Living Surface finish provides the flooring with a surface structure that shows “perceptible” wood graining.

The herringbone look
The “Bigfoot” collection from Kaindl Flooring offers the only laminate in the world available in a herringbone pattern (in beech, cherry, maple or oak), according to information from the company. A standard feature of the extra-large panels (1 324 x 331 x 8 mm) is the Snap automatic interlocking technique, which makes laying them a rapid process. The specially developed “Aquastop 6” base sheet with minimal swelling properties makes “Bigfoot” hardwearing and robust, qualities that Kaindl emphasises through offering a ten-year product guarantee.
