The competitive scene in America has never been more challenging, especially in major metropolitan markets.
Over the past 25 years, Home Depot has invaded every major metro market with clusters of stores, putting smaller DIY chains and thousands of single-store operators out of business. Then, over the last several years, Lowe’s has mounted a strong challenge to the giant, opening 100 or more stores a year in those markets.
