More space for the building fair
The SAIE trade fair in Bologna is fully booked. The organisers claim that this event, which will be held for the 40th time from 13 to 17 October, is set to outstrip the results of last year’s fair. They amounted to attendance figures of 1 850 exhibitors and 170 542 visitors. The fair this coming October will have an exhibition area extended by 28 000 m² for an overall total of 220 000 m².
Expectation of similar exhibitor figures
The organisers are again expecting around 900 exhibitors at the trade fair duo consisting of the Hong Kong International Lighting Fair in combination with the International Hardware and Home Improvement Fair, to be held between 27 and 30 October 2004. Last year, when the two fairs were held together for the first time, 745 suppliers and 18 400 buyers registered in the Lighting segment, and the Hardware and Home Improvement segment counted 151 exhibitors and 14 800 visitors. This means almost a doubling of the attendance figures compared with the preceding events, which were still staged separately.
Growth for volume goods show
Due to be held in Paris from 3 to 8 September 2004, the next Tradexpo, a trade show that is held three times a year, will be bigger than last year’s event. The organisers, Agor, have increased the exhibition space from 49 000 m² to 55 000 m² this time. More than 400 exhibitors have registered for the volume goods show, which attracted 370 companies in September 2003. There is a special showcase called “Home and Leisure” (“Maison Loisirs”) devoted to DIY, creative leisure activities and gardening. A special spotlight will be on the ranges for Halloween and Christmas.
Hopes for more internationalism
The organisers of DIY, the trade fair held in Kortrijk, are hoping for a boost to their attendance figures, and more internationalism above all, as a result of the lack of a Practical World in 2005. These ambitions are now to be expressed in a four-language advertising campaign (English, French and German in addition to Flemish) among other things. So far about 130 exhibitors have registered for the next DIY event, planned for 30 January to 1 February 2005. This means that around 70 per cent of the available exhibition space has already been allocated.
