The range offered by the Finnish company, which has its headquarters in Vantaa, comprises all the components required for tinting solutions such as colouring pastes, tinting machines and mixing equipment as well as software, marketing instruments and services. Last year CPS Color and its 900 employees generated sales of € 169 mio with this range of products. The company introduced a selection of new products at this year’s European Coatings Show in Nuremberg. They include Monicolor H, a new colouring paste system for waterborne architectural paint. All eleven of the highly concentrated colouring pastes are based on organic pigment content. “They are VOC- and APEO-free, which means they meet both the latest requirements and regulations still being planned,” asserts Peter Baggen, regional sales director EMEA. Also new is the Corob Power 5000 hybrid tinting machine, which combines bellows pump technology with gear pumps. This combination, together with a modular design and a whole range of technical innovations, is expected to result in the new machine becoming a patented multi-tasking tinting system, independent of the type of colorant and of the quantity of paint to be tinted, whether large or medium. “It makes it possible to react immediately to changes in customers’ requirements and to take instant advantage of new market opportunities,” Peter Baggen stresses. The “Corob PROlab/sample” solution allows for the mixing of the smallest possible quantities of paint with exactly the same configuration, permitting retailers to provide their customers with small samples of paint to take home with them. As Mr Baggen says, “Such samples can be produced as required, simply and at little expense, to help in promoting sales.” Furthermore, CPS Color will be distributing the “Color Planner” software from Upload Image Processing. This will allow customers to upload a photo of their house or a room, for instance, and virtually paint and decorate it. Then at the end comes a list of all the paint needed for the renovating work. Dealers with paint mixing units who use this software can help customers with their choice of colours while at the same time promoting sales in their store.
