The range of products at the British trade fair Glee, to be held at the NEC in Birmingham from 16 - 18 September, spans three core product worlds: garden, pet and leisure. Its scope covers garden care products, machinery, tools, nursery plants, garden furniture, landscaping products, outdoor living accessories, barbecues, fountains and water features, gifts, conservatory living, plus clothing and food. Pet and aquatic merchandise at Petindex round off the product offer. Glee, which attracts more than 1 500 exhibitors and 25 000 visitors each year, has a fresh show layout this year that is designed to put the spotlight on the nursery segment. It will also give Petindex an entrance of its own, and the organisers say that the product sectors will be grouped in a logical order as well. Visitors interested in environmentally friendly products will be helped in their search by the new “Going Green” logo displayed on stands. During this year’s event exhibitors will be able to mark their stands with the organisers’ Going Green logo to indicate to buyers the presence of sustainable or eco-friendly products in their range. The environment will also have its place among the topics in this year’s seminar programme. During all three days of the fair both visitors and exhibitors will be able to attend informative sessions dealing with trends and opportunities in the garden retailing trade. Presented by industry experts, the seminars, demonstrations and workshops are free to attend and will be held within the framework of Glee in Hall 3/3A and of Petindex in Hall 6. The awards for new products, a popular feature of Glee, offer buyers a window onto new garden trends. Hundreds of new products are entered every year for the awards, which recognise innovative product design, quality of manufacture and marketing aspects. The award-winning products will be displayed in the main entrance area.
