Israeli group standThe Home Improvement & DIY sector of the Israel Export & International Cooperation Institute (IEICI, www.export.gov.il/Eng) is showcasing plenty of innovation at the 2010 International Hardware Fair in Cologne, Germany. Here in Hall 10.1 (A 60G ) 15 Israeli companies are displaying their products in a special pavilion designed as an in-store experience.
As the IEICI reports, many of the companies attach great importance to "greener" processes in everything from kitchenware to building materials. They have put a special emphasis on consumer-friendly and energy-conscious product features, including ergonomic design and the use of recycled and recyclable materials.
Among the companies participating are Sycamore ("Big Wipes", heavy-duty cleaning wipes), S.H. Tech, ("Smart Start" barbeque grill with an "all natural" lighting system), Kapro (hand tools "The Best Level on Earth", W.P.W. Engineering Ltd. (tungsten-carbide tipped woodworking cutting tools, "Countersink & Stop" technology), Gator Clamps (hand tools, new clamp line) and Red Toolbox (new concept in parent/child learning and bonding).
France in CologneThe French DIY suppliers exhibiting at the International Hardware Fair will be concentrated in the pavilion organised by Unibal (the French DIY Manufacturers Association, www.unibal.org) that will be located at the entrance of Hall 4.1.
Among the exhibitors: SDMO ("Portable Power" range with transportable generating sets), Burger & Cie (wooden products to decorate, protect and enlarge home and garden), Tubesca (ladders, scaffolds, hydraulic lifts), Leborgne (part of the Fiskars group, builder's and garden hand tools), Debflex (electrical appliances dedicated to the DIY market) and Vynex (fixing, deep range of screws).
Record number of American firms For the first time ever the Worldwide DIY Council (www.wdiyc.org), an association of active exporters from the United States and Canada, will be hosting a group pavilion in Hall 4.2.
In addition, several dozen more Council members, as well as other American companies, will be exhibiting at Cologne - a record number, according to the organisation. The Council is emphatic about the cost benefit offered by the North Americans: with the dollar at near-record lows against the euro and other currencies, American-made products are priced more attractively than ever. Council members exhibiting in Cologne are all experienced exporters whose products are available in 140 countries around…
