The Belgian trade fair in Kortrijk has gone through a number of changes over the past few years. For instance, last year saw a move from the long-standing slot at the end of January, a fixture for nearly three decades, to a new date in late September. What is more, it was also given a new name, Homing – which is being changed yet again for the 29th staging of the event: it is now to be held from 26 – 28 September 2010 under the name of DIY & Homing. The organisers believe that the longer name better reflects the image of the industry: the combination of hardware and software, masculine and feminine, professional and amateur. In combination with the new date it also gives expression to an expansion of the product offer in order to include more ranges from the green market. Decoration, garden, timber, building, hardware, sanitary, tools, electrical and housewares are the segments that will be represented by exhibitors at the fair. Entry to Halls 1 – 4 and 6 in Kortrijk is reserved for trade visitors alone. Over 4 000 visitors are expected to attend the event, and more than 200 exhibitors. The support programme, which offered a so-called Networking Happening last year, for instance, will also include the “Stars in the Box” competition for new products. Download:
