The Totally DIY/Tools/Secure fair group is continuing to canvass for the 2012 show with a new slogan: “It’s where the trade trades”. This is now being used to advertise the event, which is due to take place in Birmingham from 5 to 7 February 2012. Following an increase in exhibition area of 15 per cent last year, the organisers from Brintex Events are reckoning on further growth in 2012 too. A large number of exhibitors are expected to return to the show. Totally DIY has taken place in parallel with the consumer goods event, Spring Fair International, since 2010. This year’s supplementary programme will be enhanced by the addition of an “Insight Café” located in a central position in Hall 16 of the National Exhibition Centre (NEC). It is being sponsored by Insight DIY, a news service. In addition, the company is working in combination with market researchers GfK Retail and Technology and the British Independent Retailers’ Association (BIRA) to sponsor the programme of presentations offered to visitors during the show. These market update and business advice presentations will be part of a mixed programme including product demonstrations from those companies in the show which have new products to display. And, as in previous years, there will be a competition again for the “Best New Product” awards. Download:
