This year’s National Hardware Show in Las Vegas, USA, is coming up with a number of new features that all revolve round the theme of product innovation. At the exhibition, due to be held from 1 to 3 May 2012, organisers Reed Exhibitions are setting up four new specialty areas in addition to the separate product categories. The “Innovation Station” will probably be the most important of these. It will introduce more than 1 000 new products that are being launched on the market. Moreover, for the first time there will also be a specialty area for “Pet Products” in Las Vegas. The other two specialty areas will present products and innovations under the headings “Energy efficient” and “Made in the USA”. In general the fair is structured in nine product segments: hardware and tools; homewares; lawn, garden and outdoor living; PDRA paint and accessories; storage and organisation; tailgate and outdoor recreation; plumbing and electrical; inventors’ spotlight; international sourcing. At the same time a broad programme of additional events, such as seminars by the industry association under titles including “NRHA Free Education”, will be offered to supplement the product side, and a “Tailgate Party” is on the agenda too. Prizes will be awarded in the homewares and lawn, garden and outdoor living segments, and there are also the “New Product Launch Spotlight Awards”. The fair company has set up a special programme for looking after international attendees. This includes use of the buyers’ lounge as well as special conditions for arranging travel and accommodation. Download:
