Visitor attendance at the Taiwan Hardware Show has increased by more than five per cent. The event, which took place from 20 to 22 October, attracted 19 562 visitors, according to the organisers Kaigo. There was a 15 per cent increase in the number of foreign visitors to the show, which hosted 260 exhibitors with around 400 stands. Great satisfaction was expressed by the co-organisers, the Taiwan Hand Tool Manufacturers’ Association. “The range of products displayed this year was more complete than previous years and has reached an internationally recognised level,” is how Lin Chien Kuo, the association’s vice-president, summed up the situation. He believes that the Taiwanese manufacturers are investing more heavily in research and development in order to make hardware “made in Taiwan” attractive to the global market well into the future. This year buying teams arrived for the 11th staging of the THS from all corners of the world. The list of visitors included representatives from Malaysia and Russia, for example. Following the attendance of a large group from Japan, the Taiwanese industry has high hopes of an expansion of trade relations with this neighbouring country. Also given a high rating by the organisers is the significance of the visitors from China: 29 dealers belonging to the China National Hardware Electric and Chemical Products Commercial Association attended the show in Taiwan. The next THS is being brought forward by one week, so will be held from 11 to 13 October 2012. The venue for the event is also changing: the THS is moving to the Taipei World Trade Center Nangang Exhibition Hall in the east of the city. Download:
