This year’s Euro-Mat Suppliers Forum took place in Palma de Mallorca from 17 – 20 April with the participation of more than 160 member companies and suppliers. The Forum has become a permanent feature in Euro-Mat’s annual schedule, offering participants the opportunity to sound out or develop existing B2B relations on what was at times a high-calibre level. Among those taking part were around 20 head buyers and managing directors of leading European building materials cooperatives, who held individual talks of 30 minutes each with representatives of industry. The tightly organised structure meant that 650 such talks took place over the three days – eliciting a thoroughly positive response from the participants. All except one of the 23 companies belonging to Euro-Mat were represented in Palma de Mallorca, which underlines the significance of this event. The sales figure of just on € 25 bn achieved by all the Euro-Mat members in 2011 was one-third higher than one year previously – a development that it is hoped to continue through the admittance of new member companies. At present Euro-Mat members are represented by 4 400 outlets in 28 countries. Apart from a very few exceptions, the goal being pursued is “one country – one member”. This year again there was a festive evening event during which awards for their special contribution were made to a number of suppliers, Collomix, Doerken, Fischerwerke, Jeld-Wen, ter Hürne and Wavin, as well as to Eurobaustoff, a German member of Euro-Mat.
