Simultaneously with the publication of this issue of DIY International 4/2014, the German-based Dähne Verlag has completely revamped and relaunched its Internet service for the international DIY and garden sector. Resulting in, DIYglobal.com now becoming DIYinternational.com.
A newer, but still familiar name and a familiar but newer service: This is one way of describing the online service DIY­international.com in its new guise.
The name really is new, because up until now the service was known as DIYglobal.com on the net; and it is actually familiar because it was aligned with this specialist magazine DIY International, with which it has been linked from the very beginning.
So now the completely redesigned online service provides the latest information from the global DIY and garden sector, which the users of DIYglobal have been accustomed to since 2002, but dovetails even better with the reporting in the magazine DIY International.
Specifically, this means: DIY­international.com continues to bring current news items from the DIY and garden stores worldwide on a daily basis. Hence, the free newsletter that the editorial staff regularly send to subscribers all around the world, is still available.
This news is available from the archive and can be accessed by users who opt for the online service’s premium subscription. All issues of the magazine are also available from the archive.
The online service also includes texts that are followed up in more detail in the magazine. It is analogous to the print edition under the menu item “Industry” and divided into the categories “Distribution”, “Suppliers”, “Garden” and “Events”. Selected articles from the current issue are available for the premium user a few days prior to the respective publication date.
In addition, the premium user has access to comprehensive figures for the global DIY retail scene under the menu item “Statistics”. The core element is a database, with information on almost 400 DIY chains in more than 70 countries around the world. This includes, among other things, key figures such as the number of locations and the sales areas.
