The British DIY multiple Wickes is focusing a special summer campaign on wood as a material for DIYers

Wickes, the British DIY multiple, has launched a summer campaign designed to make customers enthusiastic about doing-it-themselves with wood. A competition has been running since the beginning of August in conjunction with the “wood.for good” campaign initiated by the timber industry in its biggest advertising campaign ever. The best DIY effort will receive a prize of £ 10 000. DIYers can collect entry forms in all 136 Wickes stores and must also buy the wood they need for their projects there. Help in judging the entries will be provided by Charlie Dimmock, star of TV gardening and DIY programmes.
