The British market for garden products is worth around a hefty € 2.47 bn

The retail market for garden products in the United Kingdom has attained an annual sales volume of € 7.47 bn. This figure was ascertained by the HTA (Horticultural Trades Association) for the period between July 2001 and July 2002. This total breaks down into € 4.56 bn for manufactured goods and € 2.91 bn for horticultural products. Garden centres, together with nurseries and market gardens operating on the retail side, take the biggest market share, though DIY stores and internet shopping are also gaining market share.
