Slight increase for coatings division

In the first quarter of the current year Akzo Nobel’s coatings division has notched up autonomous sales growth of four per cent. The company reports that increased volumes and prices are each responsible for two per cent of this growth. It further reports, however, that this was not sufficient to fully make good the negative effects of pensions and currencies.
