The market in five EU candidate states declined in 2002, though the forecasts look good

The window market in the south-east European states that are about to join the EU, Hungary, Poland, the Czech Republic, Slovakia and Slovenia, declined in the year 2002. According to a study from the market researchers Interconnection of Vienna, 1.6 per cent fewer windows were sold in these countries than in the previous year. This follows the 2.4 per cent drop in units sold in 2001. Sales have contracted by as much as 4.6 per cent. The authors forecast growth for the current year again.
