South-eastern Europe: The window market

For the second time running the window market in Hungary, Poland, Czechia, Slovakia and Slovenia, all EU candidate states in south-eastern Europe, lost ground in the year 2002

A total of 8 113 000 windows were sold in these countries, which is 1.6 per cent fewer than the previous year. Sales even declined by 4.1 per cent to € 1.358 bn. For 2003 the market research company Interconnection of Vienna expects slight growth again of 1.8 per cent in terms of volume, and for 2004 a clear increase of 4.9 per cent.
