The European window market declined to a level of 71.6 million units in the year 2002, representing a net ex-works value of approx. € 16.4 bn. The expectation is for the year 2003 to see a further decline of 1.9 per cent in terms of quantity to 70.2 million units. The market will decline in terms of value by 2.8 per cent to reach a level of € 15.9 bn, according to a study by market researchers Inter Connection.
