Downscaled Jumbo

Jumbo, the Swiss DIY retailer, is multiplying its small-format neighbourhood store concept known as Jumbo easy. Today sees the opening at Wattwil in eastern Switzerland of the third store of this kind. The new concept was premiered in Zürich in early June, and another store has been inaugurated in Lausanne. The neighbourhood stores have a retail area of approximately 1 000 m². Their product offer, which is divided into DIY, décor and garden sections, includes more than 25 000 articles. Live plants, for example, are part of the range. Also available on the reduced floorspace are services like cutting wood to order and mixing paint. The company has announced it is planning more openings of centrally located and easily accessible shops.
