DIY link-ups in Spain

Currently efforts are being made on both the industrial and retail sides of the DIY sector on the Iberian peninsula to establish associations of their own. The inaugural event for the Asociación Española de Fabricantes de Bricolaje, the Spanish manufacturers’ organisation, is to be held in Valencia on 29 October 2003. On the retailers’ side, an initiative for a joint association for Spain and Portugal has been announced. A first meeting is scheduled to be held in Madrid, also on 29 October.
