The International Hardware Fair/Practical World will be held every two years after 2004; under consideration is a tool fair for the odd years

As Koelnmesse announced yesterday, the International Hardware Fair/Practical World is going to be held every two years after 2004, but will continue to be the brand platform for three sectors: Tools, Security, Locks and Fittings, and Home Improvement/DIY. The announcement from Cologne also stated that all the product sectors will again be fully represented from 2006. What is more, a trade fair just for tools, to be known as “Tools Cologne”, is being planned for the odd years. It will be staged for the first time in 2005 and is designed to expand the range of products offered by the fair in the hand and power tool sectors. Further emphasis is being given to increasing internationalism. In this context, Koelnmesse has opted for an exclusive collaboration with Reed Exhibitions, the company that will be staging the National Hardware Show in Las Vegas next May.
