Market entry in Spain

Kingfisher has been in the Spanish marketplace since the end of October. That is when the UK group opened a first outlet in Spain under the name of Brico Stock in the Las Caňas shopping centre in Viana (La Rioja). The concept follows the French Brico Dépôt retail format. The DIY store has a retail area of 6 000 m², with 2 000 m² of the total space out of doors. The company has announced two further new openings in the near future. Valencia has previously been mentioned as a possible location, and consideration might also be given to Toledo as well.
