In the United Kingdom B&Q now has 22 of its mini Warehouses. During the third quarter of this year (to 1 November) the British subsidiary of the Kingfisher group opened two new mini Warehouses and converted eight existing Supercentres to this format. The company is targeting a figure of around 50 new markets for such stores. Five new mini Warehouses are to be opened over the next 15 months, two are to be extended and 30 Supercentres are to be converted to the format. Most of the company’s Supercentres are expected to follow over the coming years. In the words of Gerry Murphy, chief executive officer of Kingfisher, the company sees here the potential to expand its number of stores in the home country, the United Kingdom.
