The cooperative’s sales record a double-digit increase in the first quarter
The US member-owned wholesale hardware cooperative has announced sales for the first three months of 2004 (to 3 April) up by 10.4 per cent to US $ 499.4 mio (€ 418.0 mio) over the same period last year. Approximately half of the sales increase resulted from same-store improvements, according to the company. The other half is primarily due to additional shop days this year. The net margin for the quarter came to US $ 2.1 mio (€ 1.8 mio) versus a net loss of US $ 3.9 mio (€ 3.3 mio) last year.
