Another takeover in the professional contractor market

Home Depot Supply is taking over another building materials firm, White Cap Construction Supply, which is based in Costa Mesa, California. The company specializes in supplying small and medium-sized construction firms. Deliveries to site account for around 60 per cent of White Cap’s annual sales, put at 500 mio US$ (421 mio €). Home Depot estimates the value of the overall market at 410 bn US$ (345 bn €). White Cap will be incorporated into The Home Depot Supply division. The latter’s president, Jim Stoddart, described the new member of the group as the “clear leader in this highly fragemented market”.
