Five per cent more exhibitors than two years ago are expected at Ferroforma and the concurrently held Bricoforma

When Ferroforma opens for business in the Spanish city of Bilbao it will be for the 16th time. This hardware trade fair will be held from 23 to 26 September on the exhibition site that opened just this spring. Due to be launched for the first time and in parallel to the hardware fair is Bricorama, which will offer products for the DIY sector. So far a total of 1 035 firms have registered, amounting to five per cent more than two years ago. They will fill the entire new 115 000 m² complex of halls. The net exhibition space will come to almost 40 000 m², 76 per cent of which will be occupied by Ferroforma.
Bricoforma has attracted the registration of 230 firms, whose displays will include housewares, gardening items, interior decoration and building materials, along with plumbing, heating, ventilation and electrical products, lighting and timber. Not until the new exhibition site came into operation was it possible to offer a separate DIY segment within the framework of the Bricorama event. Exhibitors offering products for DIY retailers were indeed represented at previous events, but the longstanding allocation of stands made it impossible to bring together the range of DIY items, which has now been achieved for the coming show to keep pace with developments in the marketplace. For as Jesús González, president of the newly established manufacturers’ association AFEB, explained at a press conference, “DIY is the most strongly growing market in Spain.”
