Rentpartner offers a variety of different concepts for plant hire in DIY stores

One large-scale shop version has been set up in Cologne. Here Max Bahr has put around 100 m² at Rentpartner's disposal, where approximately 100 different machines are available for hire, from a hot air gun through to orbital sanders, shredders and lawnmowers as well as parquet sanders. Also to be found are products such as gloves, ear defenders and respirators, which are best positioned in these surroundings.
The stand-alone solution for DIY stores offering up to 2500 rental articles.
But such generous solutions are only suitable for large stores on the right location. So Rentpartner has in addition worked out a “counter solution” in order to make the concept available everywhere. Here the space requirement is markedly reduced. About one-tenth, or approx. 10 m², is sufficient to display the core area of expertise: a version that can in the long run be set up in all types of DIY stores. A third version is the stand-alone solution, with more than 2 500 different rental articles.
The individual locations are serviced by the so-called shop attendants. They ensure that the outward look at the POS is appropriate, and that the equipment is all in good order. They are also responsible for training the sales staff in the stores, as well as for the make-up of the product range locally. By this means Rentpartner intends to guarantee that the assortment of rental equipment is optimally adjusted to the respective outlet, and that it can react swiftly to changing trends.

There are two fundamental criteria to be observed when putting together the rental equipment: for DIYers: the machines must be transportable and simple to operate. Which means you will search in vain for an excavator, for instance, within Rentpartner's DIY retail concept.
Rentpartner is a brand name belonging to the Dutch company Boels, based in Sittard, that started to hire out plant in the seventies. Today it has a workforce of approx. 1000 and is aiming for a turnover of € 100 mio in this current year.
