Future-oriented changes

The Tabur group has introduced a new organisational structure, which will ensure changes within its marketing arms and affiliated retailers

The two central buying organisations of the Tabur group, T.L.S. (Tabur Logistiques et Services) and D.S.A. (Détail Service Aménagement), are being combined in one single buying operation. T.L.S. manages the Catena and Super Catena DIY superstore chains; and D.S.A. is responsible for Bricogite and B3 Bricolage as well as for the affiliated chains and stores (such as Mistral, Batir, Bricolag and Baudoux Bricolage).
The amalgamation is being undertaken with the objective of bundling the buying facility, adjusting the product ranges to all the group’s marketing concepts, reinforcing its presence and making use of existing synergies. For example, in the area of communication the D.S.A./T.S.L. group will distribute 38 000 000 advertising leaflets and coordinate the timing of special promotions. Synergies are also expected in the choice of products and the creation of advertising leaflets. What is more, there are plans for TV spots and an internet site as well.
Products with the brand names Elabor, Extar and T2M are to be developed within the framework of the marketing mix. This is intended to consolidate margins, encourage customer loyalty, differentiate the group from the competition and strengthen the internal bond. These brands will then account for a share of around 20 per cent with a total of more than 3 450 items.
Amalgamation of the Tabur group’s two central buying facilities will benefit the Catena chain.
The Tabur group is today directed by Michel Tabur, grandson of the company founder. It comprises the DIY superstore chains Catena and Super Catena, B3 Bricolage and Bricogite. Franchisors of Catena France are the T.L.S. (Tabur Logistiques et Services) for the northern region and Stokvis-Blanc for the southern region.
As of 1 July T.L.S. has bought out Stokvis-Blanc. Michel Tabur is chairman of the enterprise, which is conducted as a public limited company. Stokvis-Blanc, which is headquartered at Cahors, is responsible for 50 Catena stores, 2 Super Catenas and 15 affiliated stores of the Maison Service chain.
