Construction business weakening

The current report of Euroconstruct, the construction forecast group, expects the new residential construction sector in Europe to grow more slowly this year than in the years before; the expectation is even for slight real shortfalls in 2008 and 2009. However, a new high will be reached in 2007 with the completion of more than 2.6 mio residential units in the 19 Euroconstruct countries, which is 30 per cent above the low experienced in 2001. Completions will only go down slightly to 2.5 mio residential units by 2009.
