Process of uninterrupted concentration

The total number of garden centre outlets in Germany is declining. From 3 622 garden centres identified in the country altogether by Dähne Verlag in 2007, the number dropped to 3 473 in 2008, which is 149 outlets or 4.1 per cent (figures relate to July of each year). These figures were released by Dähne Verlag at a press conference within the context of Gafa/Spoga in Cologne. For the first time in years even the total number of outlets operated by the 20 biggest garden centre operators in Germany has fallen by comparison with the previous year, by 7 outlets or 0.35 per cent to 1 884.
