Honouring of Manfred Maus

Manfred Maus, founder of Obi and for many years president of the German DIY Retailers' Association, was presented with this year's DIY Lifetime Award on 1 December 2009 at the 10th International DIY Retail Congress in Berlin. In his eulogy Dr David Bosshart, CEO of the Gottfried Duttweiler Institute for Economy and Society, stressed Mr Maus's special feeling for trends and developments in the area of retailing, franchising and product assortments. The DIY Lifetime Award is presented annually by two trade associations, BHB and Bau + DIY, in conjunction with Dähne Publications.
