Kingfisher declares support for its “Net Positive” initiative
The British Kingfisher Group has published its Corporate Responsibility Report 2011/2012. In this the European DIY market leader confirms the goals of its “Net Positive” initiative and formulates four priorities. Timber: The aspiration is to grow more trees than are used; last year 86 per cent of the timber products sold by Kingfisher came from well-managed or recycled sources. Energy: The aspiration is to make private households zero carbon or net energy producers; here the company points to the energy-efficient products in its stores with which customers have saved an estimated 2.515 bn kWh of energy. Innovation: The aspiration is to have every product reusable or biodegradable. Communities: Every store is expected to support groups and communities within its local environment.
