Madrid not Istanbul in 2014

The 3rd European Home Improvement Forum 2014 will not be held in Istanbul as planned but in Madrid instead. Fediyma and Edra, the two trade associations sponsoring the event, explained that the reason for their joint decision was the political and social instability in Turkey. At the same time the associations’ executives, John Herbert (Edra) and Ralf Rahmede (Fediyma), expressed their regret about taking this step and announced that it will be rectified by holding tthe congress in Istanbul two years further on, in 2016. As John Herbert said, Istanbul is one of his favourite European cities. Ralf Rahmede proved optimistic about Madrid, since many partners are “very enthusiastic about the Spanish DIY market”. A majority of the delegates at this year’s congress voted for Madrid as the venue for 2015, so this will now simply be brought forward. The dates of the event are also being altered by one day. The 3rd European Home Improvement Forum in Madrid will now be held on 5 and 6 June 2014.
