New director of European affairs at Edra

The Frenchman, Julien Bouyeron (32), is new director of European affairs at the European DIY Retail Association (Edra). He has previously been active in Brussels and worked during the last four years as senior policy advisor for the French retail association Fédération du Commerce et de la Distribution (FCD). Before that, he was active for three years for EuroCommerce, the umbrella organisation of the European retail and wholesale industry.
At Edra, Bouyeron wants to focus his concerns on the five areas non-food, sustainability, international trade, B2B and digital. The top priorities he names are: a level playing field between pure players and bricks and mortar retailers, chemicals (ECHA database, nanomaterials, etc.), product safety, late payment, timber policy and plastics.
