Hornbach appoints new managing director for Austria

The Austrian subsidiary of German home improvement store operator Hornbach is to get a new managing director. On 1 March 2020, Marek Thiemel (49) will assume this role from Jan Hornbach, the CEO of Hornbach International, who has been running the company in Austria on an interim basis since May 2019.
Czech-born Marek Thiemel is a regional director currently responsible for the operational control of three Czech and all four Slovakian Hornbach stores. He has worked for the company since 2000. Hornbach operates 14 stores in Austria with a total retail area of around 170 000 m² as well as an online shop.
