Gardena's sales fell by 4 per cent to SEK 8.98 billion (EUR 778 million) in the first half of 2024 compared to the same period last year. This was announced by the parent company Husqvarna in a press release today. Organic sales also fell by 4 per cent, currency effects had no impact. Cost savings and efficiency improvements had a positive effect, while lower sales volumes had a negative impact.
In the second quarter of 2024, net sales in the Gardena Division, in which the Husqvarna Group combines its consumer business, fell by 9 per cent compared to the previous year to SEK 4.566 billion (EUR 395 million), according to the press release. Organic sales also fell by 9 per cent and currency effects had no impact.
Sales of portable battery-powered devices were particularly strong in the quarter. Irrigation products started well, but were significantly affected by cold and rainy weather in Central Europe and North America during the period, Husqvarna said.
