The German DIY discount chain Sonderpreis Baumarkt (“special price DIY store”) is preparing for international expansion and has given itself a new holding structure. The operating company Fishbull Franz Fischer Qualitätswerkzeuge GmbH is spinning off its entire business operations into the wholly-owned subsidiary Fishbull Franz Fischer SE & Co. KG. With the transition to the European legal form of an SE, the group is also laying the foundations for international expansion, according to a press release.
There are currently 347 Sonderpreis Baumarkt branches. They are located exclusively in Germany. Around 170 are operated as franchises. The stores usually have a sales area of 650 to 1,200 m². Founded in 2005, the company has around 4,000 employees.
