Claudia Maurer to be the new Director of Spoga+Gafa

Spoga+Gafa will soon be under new management: From 1 November 2024, Claudia Maurer will take over the position of Director of the world's leading garden trade fair, as Koelnmesse announced in a press release. She will succeed Stefan Lohrberg, who left Koelnmesse in August 2024. Lohrberg was responsible for Spoga+Gafa as Director from 2016 up to and including 2024.

Maurer has more than 15 years of experience in leading positions in global trade fair and project management. She is an expert in the fields of exhibitions, conferences and corporate events and holds the ‘Certified Exhibition Management Professional’ designation. She began her career at GE Healthcare and then at Messe Frankfurt, where she held various positions in the exhibition and event business.

Over the past 15 years, the 47-year-old has lived in the USA, where she gained relevant project management experience on the trade fair organiser, agency and partner side, according to Koelnmesse. Most recently, she worked as Marketing Communications Event Consultant, Pharma and Personal Care at Ecolab, a leading global provider of technologies and services in the fields of water, hygiene and energy. In this role, she most recently organised more than 75 events per year.
