Safety first
Harris is offering customers a new range of industrial safety products. It includes safety glasses and safety goggles, the latter with an adjustable elastic head band. Then there are the lightweight and comfortable Ear Defenders for protection against high frequency noise, and a pack of triple layered dust masks with elastic head fastening and bendable nose clip. All products are packaged in polythene bags with header cards to sell alongside the Harris work wear range.

Simplified cutting
The Universal Profiler is a measuring tool which can be used to measure virtually any material that requires cutting to size. It has two extending arms, each of which is 200 mm in length. As an optional extra there is a further set of arms 50 mm long for wider measurements. The Profiler is particularly suitable for laminate and real wood flooring, and makes cutting tiles simpler as well. It can also be used for cutting floorboards or wallboards and decking, among other possibilities.

New energysaving system
The new Prismatron system from Holophane consists of controllable high frequency electronic ballast for twin lamp operation. The high wattage metal halide lamps (350 W/400 W) can be continuously dimmed to 25 per cent of the initial lamp lumen without any loss of colour rendition, making possible a 50 per cent saving in energy. This is easy on the luminaires, which consequently have a longer operating life. The product was selected for one of the “Lighting Design Awards 2003” in March.

Sealing systems
Available from Raven Seals is a new range of door and window sealing products, which is based on the tried and tested lines from their architectural catalogue. The range includes weather seals and storm proof seals, as well as brush strip seals and door bottom seals. These are complemented by a comprehensive programme of self-adhesive door seals and window weather strips. A newly developed merchandiser is available for retailers, together with the appropriate literature, which now comes with a starter set.
