The Dortmund-based company is setting its sights on the sophisticated DIYer in particular when it comes to its tile collections. The selection is to include products that are modern in design, offer elegant patterns and are made of a high-quality material mix. The new wall tile in the Toscana series has a matt white rough-textured finish that is reminiscent of the whitewashed houses of the south. Geometric patterns in combination with rectangular stainless steel inlays echo the colour scheme of the flooring lines, which introduce the warm tones of Ambra, Siena and Beige. The borders for both floors and baseboards also repeat the same shades and geometric shapes. A second version of the flooring décor boasts fossil-inspired patterns.

The new series of wall tiles called Trentino also displays a matt white finish. The very simplicity of this tile means that the decorative elements are spotlighted. The Nero/Grigio colour combination of the decorative tiles and borders with stainless steel and fine stoneware inlays matches the floor tiles, which have a slate-effect finish. Available as decorative elements for the floor are a border and two different corners. Four border corners can be combined to create a floor motif. The Trentino series picks up a theme from nature that harmonises with the slate look of the floor tiles as a second decorative alternative for walls. Grass motifs adorn the fine stoneware inlay of the décor tiles and the stoneware borders as well.

The Hydrotect surface treatment process has been applied to both new lines under the Medea Ceramica brand name, which makes them easy to care for since it prevents bacteria and dirt from adhering to the tiles.
Meissen Keramik Vertriebs GmbH is the Deutsche Steinzeug AG’s 100 per cent owned DIY retail subsidiary. The company operated under the name of Deutsche Steinzeug Market Systems GmbH & Co. KG until the end of April. The aim of this reorientation is to further utilise the potential of the Meissen brand, whilst at the same time strengthening and continuing to develop the Wessel Keramik and Medea Ceramica brand names.
