The fourth Bricolage trade fair, held in conjunction with the Expo Ferragista 2000 hardware show from 5 to 9 July, attracted 72 000 visitors from Brazil and other South American countries, and from the USA and Europe as well. A 40 per cent proportion of the visitors were end-consumers, who were only admitted at the weekend. Every year this trade fair presents new products and marketing strategies to the region’s biggest and most important DIY retailers such as Castorama, Leroy Merlin, Conibra, Madeirense and Home Depot.
Bricolage and Ferragista occupied an exhibition space of 50 000 m²
Bricolage and Expo Ferragista occupied over 50 000 m² of space at the International Trade Mart Pavilion in Sao Paulo. Here 400 exhibitors from the host country and abroad presented hardware, gardening and leisure products, paint and decorative articles, electrical and lighting, plumbing and housewares.
“This year’s show has grown both in terms of space and number of visitors,” rejoiced Eduardo Vidal, President and CEO of the Bricolage group. “Our trade fair is the most significant event covering the DIY and garden sectors in South America. Many international concerns are opening branches in Brazil to do business in the South American market.”
Next year Bricolage and Expo Ferragista will be held from 11 to 15 July, once again in Sao Paulo, but at the Expo Center Norte this time.
