Premiere for the International DIY Corner

A new meeting place for the DIY industry is celebrating its premiere at the International DIY Fair/Practical World 2006: In partnership with Koelnmesse, with trade associations and other businesses, Dähne Verlag has devised the International DIY Corner in Hall 8, B 30. Available here will be a programme offering information and discussion over the whole duration of the fair. Topics to be treated will include the DIY Press Landscape in Eastern Europe, Trends in International Design, and the so-called 50+ Market. The house of Dähne, which numbers the specialist magazines diy-Branchenmagazin and DIY in Europe among its publications, will take advantage of a press conference to brief on the current state of its DIY retail statistics. The traditional bau + diy breakfast and a fashion show are other events that will take place at the Corner.
The publishing house of Dähne was heavily involved well in advance of the fair, sending out 4 800 free entry tickets to DIY store managers in Germany in conjunction with Koelnmesse, for instance. At their stand in the immediate vicinity of the International DIY Corner the publishers are not only presenting their broad range of informative literature – including specialist magazines, trade directories and buyers’ guides – for the DIY retail sector, but are also setting up a transparent editorial office. A further contribution as part of the supplementary Practical World fair programme is the DIY Store Tour to interesting retail outlets in the greater Cologne area. And on the Tuesday of the fair Dähne Verlag is inviting the sector to a Get-together Party.
