All Porta Potti models of the 335, 345 and 365 series produced by the American company Thetford now feature a manual piston pump, which is designed to make flushing easier and more thorough. The Porta Potti 335 is a compact model for which room can be found almost anywhere; the medium-sized 345 has a larger holding tank; and the 365 is specially suitable for families. It also offers a natural seat height. The models 145 and 165 still have a manual bellows pump, and the deluxe Porta Potti 465 tops that by featuring a battery-powered flush. The packaging designed for presenting the portable toilets to customers has been completely updated with the aim of creating a fresher, more modern effect. It is now possible to differentiate between the individual models through the use of a variety of colours and packaging materials. Pictograms and illustrations provide a simple means of highlighting the instructions for use. The logo had not seen any change since the toilet was originally launched on the European market in 1971. Now it has been slightly reworked and adapted to the present day. The product portfolio is rounded off by a comprehensive palette of appropriate sanitary lines (chemicals and deodorants) which have been developed to ensure lasting maximum performance. The supplier claims, for example, that the Aqua Soft toilet tissue will quickly dissolve in the holding tank without clogging, unlike conventional domestic toilet paper. Thetford is a leading supplier of portable sanitary units and gas absorption refrigerators, as well as an extensive range of additives and maintenance products – for applications at home and on holiday. Thetford operates eleven branches in eight coun-tries and employs a workforce of around 1 400. The company’s European headquarters is at Etten-Leur in the Netherlands.
