Scotts' Celaflor relies on biological methods of plant protection and pest control. Its new "Naturen" range of plant protection, pest control and fertilizers offers consumers keen to do without synthetic products in their garden a broad choice of biological solutions. The range will be known as Organic Choice in Britain. The products are based on natural or nature-identical active ingredients. The consumer has a choice of 20 different products that are effective against insects, weeds, weed moulds and pests. Substral Naturen organic lawn fertilizer is also part of the range, as are three Naturen products for controlling ants that were introduced in 2007 already. The starting signal for the entire range is due to be given now in 2008. The company has developed a block display for the POS. Shoppers are offered product information in the form of videos or DVDs as well as flyers, and training is available for sales staff.Scotts Celaflor also features convenience, alongside its emphasis on nature. This has resulted from a cooperation with Brill Gloria to develop Klick & Go, a simple mixing system for correctly dosing control agents. It consists of a sprayer with a lance nozzle that features a mixer head into which a replaceable cartridge containing pesticide is clicked. During the spraying process this is automatically mixed in the right proportions with the water contained in the sprayer. There are five products available for this process: insecticides, herbicides and fungicides. The cartridges can be interchanged as required, are good for several applications and can be re-used once tapped into.Scotts Celaflor reports worldwide sales of US $ 2.9 bn (nearly € 2 bn) with a workforce of 7 000, and regards itself as a leading supplier of fertilizers, pesticides and soils for the garden sector. It has 200 employees in the research and development department alone. In Europe Scotts also runs research centres in the Netherlands, Britain, France and Germany.
