Pergo develops, produces and markets multilayer laminate for the living area and for commercial fields of application. Production of far in excess of 30 mio m² of laminate flooring annually is carried out at two locations in Sweden and two manufacturing facilities in America. The company, which claims to be the inventor of HPL laminate flooring, employs a workforce of more than 650 worldwide in its various production units, distribution depots and regional sales offices, which are strategically spread throughout the whole of North America, Europe and the Asia/Pacific region. Both Pergo LLC and Pergo (Europe) AB are wholly owned subsidiaries of Pergo AG, which in turn has since 2007 been owned by Pfleiderer AG, a manufacturer of wood-derived products. Improved availability The Swedish specialist producer of HPL multilayer laminate has now opened a new warehouse in Ostend, Belgium, which means the company will be able to offer an improved service in the future for the central European market with regard to delivery times and reliability. Conveniently located for transport purposes on the west coast of Belgium, the warehouse provides a good link to Pergo’s key markets and covers the manufacturer’s entire product spectrum. The Ostend depot, together with the central warehouse in Trelleborg, constitutes an efficient storage and distribution solution which allows for daily deliveries with short delivery times, a high level of accuracy, great flexibility and full traceability of consignments. “This new warehouse will bring us still closer to our customers in central Europe. We are now in a position to supply orders to the Benelux countries, as well as many parts of France, Germany, Austria and Switzerland, within 24 hours,” is how Markus Schätzle, marketing director at Pergo, explains the significance of the new warehouse. With the aid of this new logistics platform right in the heart of Europe Pergo is hoping not only to strengthen its own market presence but also to attract new customers. The most important sales outlets for the company in Europe are specialist flooring and paint dealers, along with DIY stores. In North America the flooring is sold both in home improvement and DIY stores and by over 5 000 independent specialist dealers. Download:
