The company prides itself on its dedication as an innovative UK manufacturer making a wide range of power decorating tools and power cleaning products. After driving paint spraying equipment into the DIY sector, its Spray Stations are now the UK’s best selling brand. The Earlex Spray Stations are stocked by major retailers globally, but Earlex continually faces the following problem: How do you effectively demonstrate new products to potential customers? One of the newest methods of doing this is by Quick Response Codes, or QR Codes for short. These small, square 2-dimensional barcodes are becoming more and more popular. When scanned by a mobile device, they allow users to download content, read messages or visit mobile sites. Earlex believe product demonstration is key to that ‘make a purchase’ decision-making process and, if QR codes become widely adopted by the consumer, it will enable the manufacturer to do this to a much larger scale at no cost. The company is one of the first UK DIY manufacturers to adopt this technology and has product-specific QR codes on all forms of advertising and packaging. It will allow potential customers in-store to scan the barcode by using their mobile phone then, once it has been scanned, the consumer will be taken to the relevant product’s ‘how to’ video. Most stores in America now have free internet wi-fi and, if this is to roll out into European retailers, it will only further enhance the power of QR codes. Download:
