The organisers of the sixth DIY & Household Retail Congress Russia in Moscow on 7 and 8 June 2012 are expecting more than 400 delegates from the top echelons of the industry in Russia. Included among the companies represented there will be the top ten DIY retailers such as Castorama, Trest SKM (Superstroy and Stroy Arsenal), Obi, Leroy Merlin and Metrika. The congress is being staged by the B2B Conference Group (BBCG) in conjunction with Edra and Fediyma, European associations of retailers and manufacturers respectively, together with Akort, a Russian association of retailers. The programme of talks and discussions reveals the great potential for growth that the Russian DIY market continues to offer. “The first 100 store chains: who, where, when” is the title of the first panel discussion that is scheduled to open the congress. “Strategies between retailers and suppliers towards consumers”, “Formats, stores, positioning”, “Private label development” and “Developing the online channel” are some of the other topics on the agenda. An item on the second day of the congress, a “One-2-one networking session”, should be of particular interest to suppliers. This is to be a direct discussion where producers are given the possibility of introducing their company, concepts and products to more than 25 Russian DIY chains. Download:
