Some 28 000 visitors attended the National Hardware Show (NHS) in Las Vegas in early May, slightly more than a year ago. They included 4 800 independent retailers, more than ever before. One reason for this is the cooperation with the North American Retail Hardware Association (NRHA). More than 2 500 exhibitors from over 35 countries were represented at the NHS, including some 650 who were attending for the first time. To ensure easier access to innovative products the organisers had set up an “Innovation Station” where the two featured areas, “Inventor’s Spotlight” and “New Product World”, were to be found with a display of more than 1 000 new products altogether. There was a parallel setup in the garden section as well. The “Made in America” exhibition area also attracted a great deal of attention, as did the energy-saving products that featured their own special fair logo at the exhibitors’ stands. The next NHS will be held from 7 to 9 May 2013. Download:
