Reed Exhibitions, who are organising the event, expect that the second Hardware & Tool Expo Tokyo, also known as Tool Japan, to be held from 10 – 12 October 2012, will be sold out. Almost all the companies that were present at the premiere have announced their intention to participate again. High-profile brands such as Knipex, Makita, Hitachi and Ryobi will all be represented there. This year will see increases in the number of manufacturers of motorised tools and of woodworking equipment, among other things. The show is forecast to be considerably bigger this year than the initial event in October 2011. More than 140 exhibitors had already registered by April, which is as many as attended the first edition of the fair. Now organisers Reed Exhibitions are reckoning on 50 per cent more firms, that is some 210 exhibitors all told, at the trade fair in the Makuhari exhibition centre. The event sees itself as the only trade fair for tools in Japan. Moreover, the intention is to extend the spectrum of products this year to include further categories such as paints and varnishes plus accessories. The target group is buyers from DIY retail groups and the hardware trade, as well as wholesalers; visitors to the fair also include professionals from sectors such as structural engineering and landscaping. More than 31 000 visitors attended the event in October 2011. Now the organisers are expecting an increase of visitor numbers to around 40 000 during the three days of the fair. Four other events will take place in parallel to Tool Japan: the plant fair Ifex; the garden and outdoor shows Gardex and Extepo; and the Agritec agricultural fair. Download: 50
