The trade fair “DIY market” is being held in Moscow from 8 – 10 October 2012. Located in the Moscow Expocentre, it is geared to buyers from retail chains, both in the Russian regions and from abroad. It also targets buying associations, wholesalers and garden centres. Organisers Korex have announced that the exhibitors include leading Russian and international DIY store suppliers. They cover all the product groups with relevance to the DIY trade, eg, tools, bath accessories and plumbing, decoration, building materials, timber, electrical, kitchens and furniture, and housewares, as well as the garden sector with outdoor furniture and gardening tools, plus pet products. Moreover, outfitters and service suppliers will also be presenting themselves to retailers. There were 85 companies exhibiting at last year’s event, while the visitor side numbered more than 2 000 representatives of the industry. These included the buyers from 60 retail chains and buying groups from Moscow and the regions, as well as the executives from wholesale concerns. The organisers are staging a DIY forum to complement the fair. It is intended to give participants the opportunity to establish new contacts, conclude direct business deals and look for new customers, with the aim of encouraging the exchange of ideas with DIY retail chains in Russia.
